古くから伝わる伝統技法である
ブロックプリントという染色様式。
職人が手彫りした木版を用いて一版ずつ染料をつけてスタンプを繰り返す。
染料がゆっくりと布に染み込んでできる
グラデーションや、優しく表現される線、重なり合う色の 絶妙な混ざり具合などは、機械では決して作り出すことの
できない、この技法ならではの特徴となる。
人の手から手へ、職人の技を一つずつ重ねて
テキスタイルが出来上がる。
Block printing is a traditional technique that has been passed down for generations in India.
The woodblocks are carved by the skilled artisans. The prints are stacked with many colors, stamped individually by each woodblock plates.
Gradation, gentle lines, a mixture of overlapping colors are the unique feature of this technique.
Passing on the craftsmanship from hand to hand, the textiles are produced.
